Free roam skating game for mobile

Skate City is a free simulation game that was created by developer Snowman for mobile devices. It is a free roam skating game that lets players explore an open city while skating and practicing moves and tricks on their board with various obstacles and platforms along the way.

Compared to other skate games like Skate Jam or True Skate, Skate City takes a more laid-back approach and just lets players wander and play how they want. It features intuitive controls and an atmospheric feel to its graphics and design for a more immersive experience.

How is it played?

Skate City is one of the games that is included in Apple Arcade, Apple's take on a game subscription for its iOS devices. It is made by the same developer who put out the popular Alto's Adventure and Alto's Odyssey games. It is no surprise that it takes some cues from its predecessors. It is essentially a chill side-scrolling skater in an urban setting and features intuitive controls.

There are three major cities to explore in Skate City, namely Los Angeles, Oslo, and Barcelona. They offer plenty of obstacles and platforms for potentially cool moves and tricks. There are also various challenges that you can complete for each one. When you earn enough coins, you can then purchase upgrades and customization options that will help you fine-tune your board to suit preference and play style.

One thing that could use more improvement, though, is the controls. While they are simple and easy to learn, it is hard to reach corner buttons when you need to pull off more complex moves and tricks. This can be alleviated if you use a Bluetooth controller, but it would have been nice if the buttons were better positioned for touch input.

A chill and relaxed skating game

If you like skating games but you're looking for something more chill and relaxing to play, you should definitely check out Skate City. The game features nice graphics, cool music, and an atmospheric presentation. It lets you roam and play it however you want and at your own pace. Highly recommended.

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.
